OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Transitional Justice

Transitional justice recognizes that moving beyond a history of violence requires acknowledging the past, holding perpetrators accountable, providing reparations to victims, and instituting reforms that prevent recurrence. By addressing historical grievances and fostering a sense of accountability, transitional justice endeavours to rebuild trust, promote reconciliation, and establish a foundation for sustainable peace.

However, transitional justice mechanisms have not been successful in every instance where they have been deployed. At The Third Eye, we understand that helping communities rebuild their lives and relationships is crucial to move past histories of violence and conflict. We follow a ground-up, truth driven, legal principles first approach to ensure that communities who have suffered massive human rights violations can rebuild their lives with dignity, in an environment of safety.
